Woree State School Student Council
The student council of Woree State Primary School is a group of year 6 and 7 students who are elected by their peers to represent the student body. The council is responsible for many fundraising activities such as school discos and free dress days. The golden bin award for tidy classrooms was introduced by the council and is now awarded weekly on school parade. The council helps to ensure the eating areas of the school are maintained and the group is currently working together to create a nature trail within the school that can be enjoyed by all students.

These students act as a voice for the students of the school through a “buddy class” format.  The students model appropriate behaviour and through their actions promote The Woree Way. The Student Council meets regularly to report, discuss and plan. And then liaises with the Principal on issues arising within meetings. Student Councillors speak at school parades to promote School Council and general school activities.
