Microsoft Imagine Academy

Microsoft Imagine Academy Program

In 2013 an agreement was made with Microsoft to provide Queensland Education staff (not already employed at a school with a subscription) access to regional subscriptions to the Microsoft Imagine Academy Program. Previously the opportunity has only been available to students and staff at schools with secondary aged students. Now the Microsoft Imagine Academy Program is available to all school and regional office staff employed by Education Queensland.

The Microsoft Imagine Academy contains over 400 courses that cover Microsoft products in the area of Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Technical Support and Developer. The main delivery platform for these courses is self-paced eLearning but many of the courses can be offered as face-to-face workshops with practical exercises.

The Microsoft Imagine Academy also contains a Learning Management System to track course participation and the opportunity for participants to gain internationally recognised certifications.

eLearnFNQ will become the  administration and testing centre for Far North Queensland.

Microsoft Imagine Academy in Far North Queensland

The initial goal is to focus on three groups of participants.

Microsoft Office (MOSS Courses): The group using these technologies will consist of the administration and support teams within schools, and regional non-teaching staffs in regional offices. It can also support leaders, teachers, teacher-aides and any DETE employee in schools who do not currently have the MSITA established.

IT Professionals and developers (MTA Courses):  This group will consist of our Regional System Technicians and School-Based Technicians. The aim is to raise the level of technical knowledge and qualifications for people supporting ICT infrastructure within the school environment.

Microsoft Certified Educators (MCE):These courses entail using Microsoft products in delivering teaching and learning. Teachers will be able to utilise these courses to receive accreditation. They support the development of teacher capability and use of digital pedagogy.

Please contact the Regional Administrator if interested.
