Teachers supervise a number of extra-curricular activities throughout the year. Woree State School offers a variety of extracurricular activities. Extra-curricular activities offered are dependent on staff volunteering to provide additional activities and may vary from those listed. Some of these include;
- Instrumental Music – students elect to participate in woodwind, strings, brass or percussion classes and comprise membership of the School Band and Orchestra
- Australian Competitions (Computers, Science, Maths and Spelling)
- Robotics / Lego
- Sports clinics
- School garden club
- Engagement programs to develop social, emotional and physical wellbeing
- Student Leadership
In Term 1, the school’s Cross Country event and the Interschool Cross Country event take place. In Term 2 or 3, students prepare for the annual Interschool Athletics Carnival. Students in Years 4–6 compete in various sports with other schools in the district throughout Term 4. These events occur at these times to align with regional timelines for selection for regional and state events.
